“It’s nice to see Liam achieve his goal of getting down to the NCAA,” St. Michael’s Head Coach and General Manager Rich Ricci told the OJHL. “He came in this year and added some veteran depth to our blueline. Liam had a willingness to do whatever was asked. He was a league leader in blocked shots. We wish him the best on his transition to college hockey.”
The Toronto resident played two seasons in Northwestern Ontario, at Fort Frances and Thunder Bay, in the Superior International Junior Hockey League before signing with the Buzzers last summer.
“Can’t thank coach Ricci enough for bringing me over for my 20-year-old year,” Murdoch said. “Being able to play for that program while living at home was a great experience. We had a great young, resilient team that ultimately fell short of our ultimate goal in the playoffs but I know the Buzzers will be contenders for many years to come.”
“It was an honour to come to the rink and put on the jersey every day. Huge thanks to my teammates for always being there for me especially through injuries this year. Couldn’t have thought of a better spot to wrap up my junior career than the St. Mike’s Buzzers.”
Congratulations to Liam and best of luck in the NCAA!
