DRISCOLL COMMITS TO ALVERNIA

Keegan Driscoll of the Ontario Junior Hockey League’s St. Michael’s Buzzers  has confirmed his commitment to join the NCAA Division III Alvernia University Golden Wolves in Reading, PA beginning with the 2025-26 season.

Driscoll joined the Buzzers from the Toronto Patriots on Jan. 8. Between the two teams, he had 29 points (14 goals/15 assists) in 40 games during 2024-25.

The 20-year-old from East York had 36 points during 56 games with the OJHL’s Niagara Falls Canucks the previous season.

“Keegan was a great addition to our team prior to the trade deadline,” Rich Ricci, St. Michael’s Head Coach and General Manager, told the OJHL. “A well-liked teammate, Keegan was a great fit in our room and he transitioned seamlessly hockey-wise. He is a quick, hard worker with a deceptive shot. We wish much success as he begins his NCAA career.”

Driscoll says he’s grateful for his time in the OJHL.

“My experience playing in the OJHL these past two years has been very memorable,” he said. “The league has helped me grow as a player and person. I have gotten the chance to better understand the game of hockey and grow my skill sets. My experiences in the OJHL have prepared me to play at the next level.

I’d like to thank all my coaches and teammates of the teams I have played on throughout my junior career. They have played a significant role in getting to the point I am at now.”

He paid special tribute to the Toronto-based Buzzers.

“I would like to give special thanks to the St. Michael’s Buzzers who welcomed me and provided an opportunity to play and compete for a historic franchise,” he said. “Under Coaches Rich Ricci and Vic Criscuolo, I got to showcase my abilities and was able to have a good ending to my Junior hockey career.

“Having said that, I am excited to announce my commitment to play at Alvernia University. I was very impressed with both the hockey program and the educational opportunities the university provides.”

Congratulations to Keegan and best of luck in the NCAA!
