FLAMMIA COMMITS TO ALVERNIA

Gabriel Flammia of the Ontario Junior Hockey League’s St. Michael’s Buzzers has confirmed his commitment to join the NCAA Division III Alvernia University Golden Wolves in Reading, PA beginning with the 2025-26 season.

Flammia played three years with Buzzers. After playing in only four games during 2023-24, the Toronto resident had 44 points (17 goals/27 assists) in 56 games this season.

“Gabe has been a great addition to the Buzzers over the last three years,” Rich Ricci, Head Coach and General Manager of the Buzzers, told the OJHL. “We are especially happy to see him rebound after a full-season injury last year, to rebound and join us in the playoffs. This season, Gabe had a great year and was one of our most effective players post Christmas and in the playoffs.

“Small in stature but fearless. Gabe played a two-way game and I have no doubt he will have a successful career at Alvernia with teammate Keegan Driscoll.”

Flammia has high praise for St. Mike’s and the league.

“My time in the OJHL was great,” he said, “a very memorable chapter in my life that enabled me to grow as a person and as a player.

“I want to thank the St. Michael’s Buzzers organization and coaches for bringing me in and giving me an opportunity. I am grateful to have experienced being a Buzzer and being a part of the tight-knit culture that we had in the room all three seasons I was a part of the team.

“With that being said, I am extremely excited for the next chapter in my life and hockey career. I am thankful for the staff at Alvernia University to welcome me into their hockey program and the exceptional educational opportunities they offer.”

Congratulations to Gabe and best of luck in the NCAA!
